Visual aesthetics have always interested me. Keen observations of form and its meaning and composition pervade my life, from the academic and professional to the personal. As I document my travels to cities and places, I carry home elements of those experiences through my photography and crafts created by others, including an assortment of mementos, some functional, some appealing purely for their beauty and patterns.
The essence of form, light, and texture that illuminates spaces are the focus of my black and white photography. The solitary time in the darkroom sorting through the array of tiny strips of images becomes a form of contemplation and experimentation, imprinting on paper the places that remain vivid in my memory.
